Still here...new website launched!!
Hello hello hello!! It has been way too long since I made a post. Our move to Washington may be over, but we still have so much to do to get settled, even after 6 weeks of being here. I'm starting to think WA does not like me much since I've had a run of bad luck recently. Fortunately, things are slowing working themselved out and I'm getting back to where I need to be.

The site is still being updated and many images need to be added. I will be doing that over the next few days and hope to have it 100% completed by August 1. New location...new look!

Hello from Port Orchard, Washington
It's been what? 2 weeks? Insanely busy here. The family and I got to Washington on June 3. Our household items were delivered a few days later. Met up for a fellow photographer so after 9 years of marriage, my husband and I could actually have some photos of JUST THE TWO OF US!!
We hired Colorado photographer, Donna Martinez for our special session. I knew she would be able to get exactly what I had in mind. Thank you Donna for such a fun session and wonderful images we will treasure forever!
I had my first Washington session this past Saturday. Unlike today, the weather was very overcast and rainy. Thank goodness for the home studio, otherwise the session would have had to be cancelled. Here are just a few that we were able to capture that day.

Another blessing with living in Washington, my sister is near by!!! She is also due anyday now. I feel very lucky I am able to be here for such a special time in her life. Even luckier that I was able to photograph her and capture this beautiful moment.
The day before I left Hawaii, I had another maternity client. Ms. "S" really knew how to work the camera. Beautiful mommy-to-be.
One more image for a client whose session I will finish proofing by the end of the week. I promise!
I am getting back into the swing of things. We're still getting settled so if I don't get back to you right away, please know that I haven't forgotten about anyone. I've made my todo list and am crossing things off one by one. Thank you for your patience.

Sometimes the first session is not enough
In most cases, one session is all a family needs. Other times, when circumstances are out of your control, another session is required. That was my experience with the nicest family on planet Earth!
The first session started off great. However, when we made our way to the beach, things changed. It was late afternoon, extremely windy to where even I was bothered by it and at that point, the boys had enough.
I KNEW we did not get anything that I would feel comfortable showing, so I offered the family a second session. Thank goodness I did because we were able to get some images I am very happy with. I hope they're happy too!

What should my child wear?
This is a common question asked by almost every single client that books.
What to wear...
For newborns and young babies, that easy. Birthday suits are best. We want the focus to be on the child, no the clothes.
When selecting clothes for your child, try to pick things that fit nicely and aren't too cumbersome. If you want a portrait that can be hung on the walls for a lifetime, select something classic. Trendy clothes are super cute, but may not be something you want to look at 20 years from now. You're child may not want to look at them either, LOL!!
When selecting clothes, think of how colors go together. Think of how your child looks in a particular color. Be careful not to choose something that will wash your child out. Layers always look great!

These two were so wonderful to photograph. Mom may think they weren't, but I thought they were some of the best behaved children I've had the privledge to work with. It made for a quick and easy session.
